Final year Architecture students of Elizade University, Ilara-Mokin, Ondo State, have recorded a 100 percent success rate in the professional jury exercise conducted by the Architects Registration Council of Nigeria (ARCON).

The achievement was recorded during the B.Sc. (Architecture) Final Year Project Jury held from August 19 to 21, 2025, in line with the provisions of the Architects (Registration, etc.) Act, CAP A19, Laws of the Federation of Nigeria 2004.

The exercise forms part of ARCON’s statutory responsibility to regulate architectural education and ensure that minimum academic and professional standards are maintained across institutions offering architecture in the country.

All final year students presented by the Department of Architecture passed the jury exercise, with none falling below the required pass mark and none absent during the assessment.

In its official report, ARCON commended the department for the smooth conduct of the jury and the impressive performance of the students.

The council described the prevailing studio culture in the department as “worthy of encouragement” and noted that the programme had successfully addressed previous performance gaps in critical areas such as lettering, graphic communication, presentation drawings and working drawings.

According to the report, sustained attention to its recommendations would further enhance the quality, depth and professional readiness of graduates from the programme.

The commendation was conveyed in a letter signed by the Registrar of ARCON, Arc. Mohammed Itopa Sule.

Reacting to the development, the Vice-Chancellor of Elizade University, Prof. Philip Gbenro Oguntunde, described the 100 percent success rate as a defining moment for the institution.

He said the achievement reflected the university’s deliberate investment in quality teaching, modern facilities and a disciplined academic culture.

“This achievement is not accidental. It is the product of deliberate investment in quality faculty, a robust studio culture, modern facilities and a disciplined academic environment,” he said.

“At Elizade University, we are intentional about producing graduates who are not only academically sound but professionally competitive anywhere in the world.”

Oguntunde commended the Department of Architecture for its commitment to excellence and urged the students to uphold the values of the university as they advance in their professional careers.

Also reacting, the Registrar of the university, Mr. Omololu Adegbenro, praised both the students and academic staff for bringing pride to the institution.

He noted that the achievement underscored the integrity of the university’s academic processes and its adherence to national and global best practices.

“This 100 percent success in a regulatory jury supervised by ARCON underscores the integrity of our academic processes and our strict adherence to national and global best practices,” he said.

Adegbenro assured stakeholders that the university would continue to align its programmes with regulatory standards while promoting innovation, creativity and ethical values among students.

He added that the latest achievement further reinforces Elizade University’s reputation as a forward-looking institution committed to academic excellence, professional relevance and global competitiveness.
