President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the posting of 65 ambassadors-designate to various foreign missions and the United Nations, comprising 31 career diplomats and 34 non-career envoys.
The approval follows the confirmation of the nominees by the Senate in December last year.
Details of the postings were contained in a statement issued on Friday by the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga.
Among the non-career ambassadors approved are Senator Grace Bent, who will serve in Lome, Togo; former presidential aide Senator Ita Enang, posted to South Africa; Victor Ikpeazu to Spain; and Nkechi Linda Ufochukwu to Tel Aviv, Israel.
Others include former Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) chairman Mahmood Yakubu to Qatar; Paul Oga Adikwu to the Vatican City; Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ekwe Ibas (retd.) to the Philippines; Reno Omokri to Mexico; and former Lagos State Deputy Governor Olufemi Pedro to Australia.
Also on the list are Lateef Kayode Are to the United States of America; Ambassador Joseph Sola Iji to Russia; Senator Jimoh Ibrahim as Nigeria’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations; Femi Fani-Kayode to Germany; Professor Isaac Folorunso Adewole to Ottawa, Canada; and former Director-General of the Department of State Services, Ayodele Oke, to France.
Others include Yakubu N. Gambo to Saudi Arabia; Senator Professor Nora Ladi Daduut to Seoul, South Korea; Barrister Onueze Chukwujika Joe Okocha (SAN) to Dublin, Ireland; Dr Kulu Haruna Abubakar to Tunis, Tunisia; and Rt. Hon. Jerry Samuel Manwe to Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago.
For the career diplomats, the President approved postings including Ambassador Nwabiola Ezenwa Chukwumeka to Côte d’Ivoire; Besto Maimuna Ibrahim to Niamey, Niger; Monica Okwuchukwu Enebchi to Sao Tome and Principe; Ambassador Mohammed Mahmud Lele to Algiers, Algeria; and Endoni Syndoph Paebi to Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso.
Other career ambassadors include Ahmed Mohammed Monguno to Cairo, Egypt; Ambassador Jane Adams Michael to Kingston, Jamaica; Ambassador Alexandra Clark-Omeru to Lusaka, Zambia; Chima Geoffrey Lioma David to Bamako, Mali; and Ambassador Yvonne Ehinosen Odumah to Malabo, Equatorial Guinea.
Additional postings include Ambassador Segun Ige to Beirut, Lebanon; Ruben Abimbola Samuel to Rome, Italy; Ambassador Ogechukwu Kingsley Onaga to Maputo, Mozambique; Ambassador Magaji Umar to Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of Congo; and Ambassador Muhammad Saidu Dahiru to New Delhi, India.
Others are Ambassador Abdussalam Habu Zayyad to Dakar, Senegal; Ambassador Shehu Ilu Barde to Accra, Ghana; Ambassador Aminu Nasir to Ethiopia; Abubakar Musa Musa to N’Djamena, Chad; and Ambassador Mohammed Idris Haidara to The Hague, Netherlands.

The list is completed by Ambassador Joseph John Gergadi to Libreville, Gabon; Ambassador Luther Ogbomode Ayo-Kalata to Sierra Leone; Danladi Yakubu Nyaku to Khartoum, Sudan; and Bello Dogon-Daji Haliru to Bangkok, Thailand.
According to the Presidency, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has already received agrément from the United Kingdom for the High Commissioner-designate, Ambassador Aminu Dalhatu. France has also granted agrément for Ambassador Ayodele Oke.
The ministry has further conveyed the nominations of the remaining 62 envoys to their respective host countries and requested agrément in line with standard diplomatic practice.
President Tinubu has directed the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to immediately commence the induction programme for the ambassadors-designate and High Commissioners ahead of their deployment to their various missions.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has already received agrément from the United Kingdom for the High Commissioner-designate, Ambassador Aminu Dalhatu. Similarly, France has sent the agrément for Ambassador Ayo Oke.
The Ministry has also conveyed the nominations of the other 62 designated envoys to all the countries concerned, including a request for their agréments in line with standard diplomatic practice.
President Tinubu has directed that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs should immediately commence the induction programme for the ambassadors-designate and High Commissioners.
