Aiyedatiwa sacks political aides, plans 1,000 fresh appointments across Ondo

Ondo State Governor, Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, has dismissed all political aides in a sweeping move aimed at restructuring his administration and enhancing service delivery across the state.

The decision, which takes immediate effect, affects all Senior Special Assistants and Special Assistants serving under the governor.

In a statement issued on Monday by his Chief Press Secretary, Ebenezer Adeniyan, the governor expressed appreciation to the affected aides for their contributions to the development of the state, while wishing them success in their future endeavours.

The mass disengagement is coming amid what the government described as an ongoing effort to improve operational efficiency and deepen grassroots governance.

In a related development, Governor Aiyedatiwa is set to appoint about 1,000 new political aides drawn from across the 203 wards in the 18 local government areas of Ondo State.

The planned appointments, according to the statement, are intended to strengthen administrative coordination and inject fresh capacity into governance at both the state and community levels.

Although details of the selection process were not immediately disclosed, the move is widely seen as part of a broader political recalibration designed to expand representation and reinforce the government’s presence at the grassroots.

Observers note that the scale of the planned appointments underscores the administration’s focus on inclusivity and local engagement, particularly as it seeks to consolidate its development agenda across the state.
