Osun residents decry epileptic power supply, seek governor’s intervention

From John Dike, Osogbo

Residents and business owners in Kajola, Ede, Osun State, have expressed frustration over the persistent epileptic power supply in the area, accusing the Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company (IBEDC) of failing to meet their expectations. They called for urgent improvements and government intervention to address the worsening situation, which has severely impacted homes and businesses.

Chairman of the Kajola Community Landlords’ Association (KCLA), Pastor Daniel Agbolade, voiced these concerns during the second edition of the association’s annual prayer and free medical outreach. He lamented that the electricity situation has deteriorated compared to previous years, urging IBEDC to find a lasting solution to the erratic power supply.

Agbolade, who is also the founder of Christ Apostolic Church, Mountain of Praise and Mercy, Ori-Oke Annu, Kajola, appealed to Governor Ademola Adeleke to intervene, stressing the need for government action on electricity and other infrastructural issues affecting the community. Despite these challenges, he commended the governor for his ongoing efforts to deliver the dividends of democracy across the state.

Speaking on the renovation of the community’s Primary Health Centre (PHC), he expressed gratitude, describing it as a much-needed development. “We thank God for the renovation of this primary health centre because it has been here for years but needed improvements. This is a step in the right direction.”

He further urged the government to tar the community’s roads and provide a sustainable solution to the electricity crisis, which remains a major concern for residents.
