President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has postponed his planned trip to Iperu in Ogun State and will instead travel to Jos, the capital of Plateau State, to commiserate with victims of recent violent attacks that claimed several lives.

The President’s itinerary adjustment comes in response to the gun attacks in Plateau, as he begins a multi-state visit spanning Plateau, Lagos, Ogun and Bayelsa states.

According to a statement issued on Wednesday, President Tinubu will first visit Jos to express solidarity with the government and people of the state over the killings, which he had earlier condemned as senseless and unacceptable.

Following the Plateau visit, the President will proceed to Lagos State, where he is expected to observe the Good Friday solemnities.

On Saturday, April 4, he will travel to Ogun State for the commissioning of the Gateway International Cargo Airport in Iperu, alongside the inauguration of two commercial aircraft intended to facilitate export and import activities and boost the state’s economy.

During the Ogun visit, the President will also inaugurate the new Federal Operations Unit of the Nigeria Customs Service, including its operational vehicles.

President Tinubu will thereafter return to Lagos to continue the Easter holiday, during which he is scheduled to commission a series of infrastructure projects undertaken by the administration of Babajide Sanwo-Olu.

The projects include the Ojota/Opebi Link Bridge, the Lagos State Geographic Information System Building, a Multi-Agency Complex named after the President, and a school complex, all aimed at improving urban infrastructure and public service delivery in the state.

The President’s tour will conclude with a visit to Bayelsa State on April 10, where he is expected to commission completed projects executed by Governor Duoye Diri.
