Army hails Aiyedatiwa’s swift action on security alert, pledges stronger partnership with Information Ministry

The Nigerian Army has commended Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, for his prompt and decisive response to a recent security alert over a suspected terrorist plot in parts of the state.

Assistant Director, Army Public Relations, 32 Artillery Brigade, Akure, Major Njoka Irabor, gave the commendation on Thursday, during a courtesy visit to the Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Mr Idowu Ajanaku, in Akure.

Major Irabor noted that Governor Aiyedatiwa’s immediate directive to security agencies and his swift convening of an emergency security meeting underscored the administration’s firm commitment to the safety and protection of citizens.

He further appreciated the state government for its consistent support to security formations, recalling the governor’s recent donation of utility vehicles and operational equipment to strengthen the operational capacity of the military and other security agencies.

According to him, the existing synergy between the government and security agencies has played a key role in sustaining the relative peace and stability across the state.

He pledged the Army’s continued collaboration with other agencies to ensure Ondo remains safe for residents and investors.

In his remarks, the Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Mr Idowu Ajanaku, thanked the Nigerian Army for its dedication to maintaining law and order, assuring that the ministry would continue to support security operations through effective information management and public enlightenment.

Ajanaku urged residents to remain vigilant and promptly report any suspicious movement or activities to relevant authorities, stressing that public intelligence remains vital to crime prevention and community safety.

He reiterated the Aiyedatiwa administration’s unwavering commitment to a secure, peaceful, and prosperous Ondo State, emphasising that collaboration, vigilance, and transparent communication remain the cornerstone of sustainable peace and development.
