The Secretary to the Ondo State Government (SSG), Hon. Tayo Oluwatuyi, popularly known as Tukana has passed away.

Reports indicate that he succumbed to injuries sustained in a car crash.

Oluwatuyi, who had been hospitalised since the accident on December 15, 2024, died on Saturday at an undisclosed medical facility.

Although an official statement from the Ondo State Government is yet to be issued, the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Prince Ebenezer Adeniyan, confirmed the news to Nigerian Monitor in a telephone conversation.

He assured that a formal announcement would follow shortly.

The late SSG was appointed to his position on January 24, 2024 by Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa.

The tragic accident occurred while Oluwatuyi was travelling to Ibadan in Oyo State.

Further details about the circumstances surrounding his passing are expected to be revealed in the forthcoming statement.
