The Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice of Ondo State, Dr. Kayode Ajulo has delivered a firm warning to land grabbers, reiterating the government’s commitment to eradicating unlawful activities related to property acquisition.

Dr. Ajulo announced that Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa has signed Executive Order 4-2024, which marks the commencement of an aggressive campaign against land grabbing.

As part of this effort, a specialised task force is being established to address illegal land occupations, disputes, and related irregularities.

He advised perpetrators to regularise their dealings immediately or face stringent legal action.

He stated unequivocally that land matters in the state must be handled exclusively by legally constituted authorities.

“Those unlawfully acquiring government or private lands or engaging in fraudulent sales of the same property to multiple buyers must reconsider their actions immediately. The government is resolute in enforcing the law and will decisively deal with violators,” Dr. Ajulo warned.

Citing the detrimental effects of land grabbing, Dr. Ajulo condemned organised groups that have turned the practice into a profession, describing their activities as disruptive to community harmony and detrimental to the state’s development.

“The administration of Governor Aiyedatiwa will not tolerate any infringement on property rights. The law is clear, and violators will face the full weight of justice,” he asserted.

Dr. Ajulo urged individuals involved in unlawful property transactions to come forward and rectify their situations within the stipulated timeframe.

He assured the public that the government is committed to restoring order, safeguarding legitimate property owners, and ensuring the rule of law prevails across the state.
