Breaking News: INEC declares Gov Aiyedatiwa winner of Ondo guber election

Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has been declared the winner of the Ondo 2024 governorship election.

The announcement was made by the Chief Returning Officer, Prof. Olayemi Akinwunmi, during the final collation of results in Akure, the state capital.

Prof. Akinwunmi, while declaring the results, stated: “I hereby certify that I am the Returning Officer for the election conducted on Saturday, November 16, 2024. That Aiyedatiwa Lucky, having satisfied the requirements of the law, is hereby declared the winner and returned for this election.”

The election recorded a total of 508,963 votes cast, with 497,077 valid votes and 11,886 rejected votes.

Summary of Votes:

APC Total Votes: 301,113

PDP Total Votes: 97,051

Other Parties’ Votes: 13,313

Valid Votes: 497,077

Rejected Votes: 11,886

Total Votes Cast: 508,963

 

Governor Aiyedatiwa’s victory has been widely acknowledged as a testament to his popularity and the performance of his administration in the last term.

He is expected to continue his policies and projects aimed at improving the lives of the people of Ondo State.
