The Ondo State Police Command has arrested and paraded 12 suspects in connection with various crimes, including murder, armed robbery, arson, theft, and burglary.
Commissioner of Police, Abayomi Peter Oladipo, briefed journalists on the achievements on Wednesday, highlighting the command’s commitment to tackling crime and maintaining public order.
Among the arrests was Precious Kolawole, 16, and Philip Emmanuel, 17, for the murder of Mrs. Adeniyi Iyabode.
Investigations revealed that the suspects brutally attacked the victim after hearing about her withdrawal of N30,000 from her bank account.
Other arrests included Monday Chukwu, 34, for stabbing Kefa Ofando, 30, to death over a N2,000 debt; Renan Niju for suspected arson linked to a chieftaincy dispute; and four suspects for stealing vehicle parts and valuables.
The police also apprehended suspects for armed robbery and murder at the Premier Lotto office in Ore and Agagu road in Akure.
CP Oladipo urged the public to report suspicious activities and individuals to the nearest police station or through social media and emergency lines.
As the election period approaches, the police warned against intimidation and harassment, emphasising the need for peaceful coexistence.
The CP disclosed that all suspects will be charged to court upon completion of investigations.
