…Osemawe lauds govt for prompt response

Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has taken swift action to address the devastating flood that ravaged Ondo City last Friday.
He led officials from the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) to assess the damage and provide relief to affected communities.
Represented by Deputy Governor Olayide Adelami, Aiyedatiwa received NEMA’s Director General, Zubaida Umar, and her team in Akure on Tuesday.
The governor expressed gratitude for NEMA’s support and reiterated the state’s commitment to preventing similar disasters.
Aiyedatiwa reminded NEMA of a pending request to save Ayetoro community from sea incursion and promised to bring relief to victims and step up advocacy campaigns.
NEMA’s Director General, Zubaida Umar, assured that the agency will support the state government in providing succor to victims, noting that the disaster was predicted by the Nigerian Meteorological Agency and Nigerian Hydrological Services Agency.
Speaking on the flood challenge encountered by the community, the Osemawe and paramount ruler of Ondo Kingdom, Oba Victor Kiladejo, commended the state government and NEMA for their swift response.
Hon. Abiola Makinde, representing Ondo East/Ondo West federal constituency, asked flood victims to be patient, promising relief soon, and expressed satisfaction with the emergency response from the state government and NEMA.
