Ondo nurses threaten industrial action, give Aiyedatiwa 15-day ultimatum

The National Association of Nigeria Nurses and Midwives (NANNM), Ondo State Council, has issued a 15-day ultimatum to the Ondo State Government to address its demands or face industrial unrest.

In a letter to Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa, NANNM demanded improved welfare for nurses, including implementation of the Upward Review of the Consolidated Health Salary Structure (CONHESS), lateral conversion, employment of nursing personnel, payment of hazard allowance arrears, and commencement of uniform allowance payment.

The association stressed that resolving these issues is crucial for maintaining a motivated nursing workforce.

The association insisted that if the government fails to address the demands of its members, they may consider industrial action.

The letter reads in parts: “NANNM has been seeking attention to these issues since 2022, but previous letters were ignored.

“The association remains committed to dialogue and partnership with the government to improve healthcare services in Ondo State.”
