The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced the results of Oredo Local Government in Saturday’s governorship election in Edo State.
Oredo is the hometown of incumbent Governor, Godwin Obaseki.
According to the results, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Monday Okpebholo, secured 30,780 votes, while the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Asue Ighodalo, garnered 24,938 votes. The Labour Party (LP) candidate, Olumide Akpata, trailed with 5,389 votes.
The latest tally shows the APC leading with 11 Local Government Areas (LGAs) won, while the PDP has secured six. The outcome of the remaining LGAs is still pending.
Here are the Oredo LGA results:
– APC: 30,780 votes
– PDP: 24,938 votes
– LP: 5,389 votes
INEC is expected to announce the overall winner of the governorship election once all results are collated.
