Ondo State Governor, Hon. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, has reiterated his commitment to running an inclusive administration, welcoming people from all ethnic backgrounds to live and do business in the state.
He made this statement on Wednesday, during a meeting with the Igbo community, led by Chief Gregory Iloeika, Eze ndigbo of Akure/Ondo state and National President, Association of Ndieze Ndigbo in Diaspora.
Governor Aiyedatiwa emphasised that despite tribal differences, the shared identity as Nigerians unites everyone.
He reassured the Igbo community of his administration’s dedication to their well-being and encouraged them to reach out to the government with any issues or concerns.
Chief Iloeika expressed gratitude for the appointment of Igbo individuals as Special Assistants on Igbo Affairs and praised the Governor’s commitment to inclusivity and support for the Igbo community.
He also commended the Governor’s people-oriented projects and policies, as well as his ability to overcome challenges.
Iloeika dispelled rumours of factionalism within the Igbo community and reassured the Governor of their unwavering support ahead of the November 16 governorship election.
The meeting was attended by top government officials, including the Deputy Governor, Dr. Olayide Adelami, and the Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo State, Engr Ade Adetimehin.
The Igbo community has endorsed Governor Aiyedatiwa, promising to play an active role in the upcoming election and reflecting their significant contribution to the state’s socio-economic progress.
