Gov Aiyedatiwa inspects Ore 30MW Power Plant, orders project review

Ondo State Governor, Hon. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to enhancing power supply in the state.

During an inspection visit to the 30MW Power Plant in Ore, Odigbo Local Government Area at the weekend, Governor Aiyedatiwa emphasised the need to improve electricity supply to the people of Ondo State.

The power plant, solely funded by the state government, has been dormant since its construction in 2012 by the administration of former governor of the state,  Dr Olusegun Mimiko.

Engr. Ayodele Ikumapayi, the project consultant, provided updates on the facility’s status and progress during the Governor’s visit.

The power plant is designed to serve parts of the southern senatorial district and the industrial park at Ore.

Recognizing the significance of this project, Governor Aiyedatiwa directed a comprehensive review to facilitate the resumption of work on the plant.

This move demonstrates the Governor’s dedication to addressing the power supply challenges in Ondo State and stimulating economic growth through industrialisation.
