Aiyedatiwa launches construction of 10.9km rural roads, announces plans for Agro-Logistics Centers

Ondo State Governor, Hon. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, has flagged off the construction of 10.9 kilometers of rural roads in Idanre Local Government Area, reaffirming the importance of agriculture to the state’s economy.

The project aligns with the administration’s commitment to improving the standard of living for farmers and bridging the economic gap across the state.

The Governor emphasized the need for stakeholders to take ownership of the projects, ensuring quality and standard.

He also announced plans to establish nine Agro-Logistics centers across the state, supporting the agricultural value chain.

Aiyedatiwa disclosed that the construction of rural roads is part of the Rural Access and Agricultural Marketing Project (RAAMP), a partnership with the World Bank and the French Development Agency.

However, the Governor’s consistent payment of counterpart funds has made the project possible.

The Administrative Secretary of the Directorate of Rural & Community Development, Mr. Wole Akinkwotu, praised the Governor’s proactive stance in participating in RAAMP, driven by a desire to reshape perceptions surrounding rural accessibility.

The Director General of Ondo RAAMP, Engr. Adeniyi Adelabu, thanked the Governor for honoring his promise to establish road links between rural areas and urban centers, boosting agriculture and food security.
