President Bola Tinubu on Monday presided over the Federal Executive Council meeting in Abuja, where he swore in the newly appointed Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Mrs. Esther Didi Walson-Jack.
In his address, President Tinubu emphasized the importance of serving the nation with integrity and transparency.
The President praised the outgoing Head of Service, Dr. Folashade Yemi-Esan, for her exceptional tenure, highlighting her commitment to duty, loyalty, and vision.
He expressed gratitude for her significant contributions to the civil service, including enhancing efficiency, transparency, and professionalism.
Mrs. Walson-Jack, in her remarks, thanked President Tinubu for the confidence reposed in her and acknowledged the mentorship and guidance of her predecessor.
She pledged to build on existing reforms, bringing innovation and creativity to make the civil service more effective and efficient in delivering the Renewed Hope Agenda.
Mrs. Walson-Jack, a seasoned public servant, holds a Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of Lagos and has served in various key positions in the federal and state governments.
She is credited with initiatives such as the Federal Integrated Staff Housing Programme and contributions to labour relations and the national minimum wage.
The new Head of Service is also an author and has received several honors, including the Officer of the Order of the Niger (OON).
Her appointment is seen as a significant step towards enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of the civil service in Nigeria.
