Ondo State Governor, Hon. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, has emphasized the importance of collective efforts in governance, stating that “running a government is not a one-man job.”
He made this statement during a stakeholders’ engagement in the Southern Senatorial District of the state, held at the Zion Gospellers’ Church in Okitipupa, on Monday.
The event saw the defection of several leaders and members of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) from the old Okitipupa division to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The defectors were led by former PDP State Woman Leader, Mrs. Esther Ebiwonjumi, who expressed admiration for the governor’s leadership style and pledged their support for him in the upcoming gubernatorial election.
Governor Aiyedatiwa welcomed the new members, urging unity and collaboration within the party to ensure APC’s continued success in the state.
He also addressed concerns raised during the event, including infrastructure, electricity, and employment, promising to critically examine and work towards resolving them.
The event was attended by prominent figures, including His Eminence, Dr. Joshua Orogbemi Akintan, founder of Zion Gospellers’ Church, who expressed gratitude for the governor’s engagement with the grassroots and declared the community’s support for his administration.
Additionally, the Odatiwa Women Initiative, led by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Women Affairs, distributed aprons and food items to women in the area.
Earlier, Governor Aiyedatiwa held a stakeholders’ meeting with APC members in Ilaje Local Government Area at Igbokoda.
The events demonstrate the governor’s commitment to engaging with stakeholders and fostering unity within the party ahead of the November 16 gubernatorial election.
