One of the oldest monarchs in Nigeria, His Imperial Majesty, Oba (Dr) Frederick Adegunle Aroloye, Arubiefin IV, the Owa of Idanre has joined his ancestors at the remarkable age of 102.
The Owa of Idanre kingdom and paramount ruler of Idanre land, Oba Aroloye, joined his ancestors on Wednesday, leaving behind a legacy of wisdom, leadership, and dedication to his people.
High Chief Christopher Oluwole Akindolire, the Lisa of Idanre land and traditional Prime Minister of the ancient town, confirmed the monarch’s passing and announced that necessary traditional rites are already being performed at the palace to honour his memory.
According to him, Oba Aroloye’s remarkable reign spanned over four decades, having ascended the throne in 1976.
The Nigerian Monitor gathered that throughout his reign, Oba Aroloye was revered for his wisdom, compassion, and commitment to the development of Idanre land.
Therefore, his passing marks the end of an era, and he will be deeply missed by his people and all those who knew him.
Some indigenes of the town who spoke with Nigerian Monitor disclosed that Idanre kingdom will come together to celebrate the life and legacy of Oba Aroloye, whom they described as a true statesman and a symbol of tradition and culture.
They noted that his memory will live on through the countless lives he touched and the indelible mark he left on his kingdom.
