Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke has urged residents of all faiths to embrace unity and peaceful coexistence as the Muslim community celebrates the beginning of the new Hijrah calendar.
Represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Hon. Teslim Igbalaye, Governor Adeleke emphasized the importance of inter-faith harmony, resilience, compassion, and justice. He drew inspiration from the Prophet Muhammad’s example, encouraging unity and cooperation among individuals, communities, and nations.
The Governor noted that Osun State, known for its rich cultural heritage and communal coexistence, embodies the essence of Hijrah, and urged continued peaceful relationships among people of all faiths. He emphasized the importance of inclusivity, understanding, and dialogue, recognizing diversity as a source of strength.
Governor Adeleke commended the Muslim community in Osun State for their contributions to state development, commitment to Islamic principles, community service, and promotion of social justice and harmony. He assured the community of his administration’s commitment to their well-being and welfarism.
The celebration of Hijrah 1446 serves as a reminder of the Prophet’s courage and perseverance, and the Governor urged residents to work together to build a just, equitable, and prosperous society for all.
