ODHA to pass bills on school board, landed property

The Ondo State House of Assembly has committed two bills to the committee stage for further scrutiny.

The first bill seeks to establish a Board for the management of secondary schools in the state, while the second bill aims to prohibit forceful entry and illegal occupation of landed properties.

The bill for the establishment of a Secondary School Board is intended to improve the management and supervision of public schools in the state.

Lawmakers expressed support for the bill, noting that it would help address the decay and poor learning conditions in many secondary schools in Ondo State.

The second bill, sponsored by Hon. Moyinolorun Ogunwumiju, aims to curb land grabbing and illegal occupation of landed properties in the state.

Lawmakers observed that land grabbing is becoming rampant in Ondo State and expressed optimism that the bill would eradicate forceful invasion and land grabbing when passed into law.

Both bills were committed to the appropriate committees for scrutiny and further debate.

The House Committee on Lands and Housing was directed to work on the land grabbing bill within two weeks.
