From John Dike, Osogbo
The Osun Amotekun Corps has apprehended a 30-year-old ex-convict, Tajudeen Ridwan, for allegedly stealing electrical appliances from a mosque in Isale-Osun, Osogbo.
The suspect was caught by worshippers while attempting to steal an Electronic Musical Engine used for calling prayers.
According to the Corps Commander, Brig. Gen. Bashir Adewinmbi (rtd), the suspect disguised himself as a worshipper and was arrested after a tip-off from the worshippers.
He disclosed that the suspect confessed to being an ex-convict who had just completed a four-year jail term in March this year for the same offense.
Adewinmbi stated that Ridwan has been handed over to the police for further investigation and prosecution.
The Nigerian Monitor gathered that the arrest of the suspect further demonstrates the effectiveness of the Amotekun Corps in combating criminal activities in Osun State.
