The people of Ayeka community in Okitipupa local government area of Ondo State have declared their support for Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa’s re-election bid.
Led by Rtd. Gen. Joseph Oluyemi Bajowa, the Jagunmolu of Ikale land and Regent of the community, the community leaders pledged their unalloyed support for the Governor during a courtesy visit to the Governor’s office in Akure on Friday.
Gen. Bajowa commended Governor Aiyedatiwa’s leadership style and the progress he has brought to Ondo State, saying “We stand firmly behind you.”
He also urged the Governor to intervene in the process of installing a new king for the community, which has been under the rule of a regent for many years.
In his response, Governor Aiyedatiwa thanked the elders for their visit and declaration of support, acknowledging Gen. Bajowa’s patriotic service to Nigeria.
He emphasized the importance of the visit, saying “Not many people are willing to show their support during election season. I appreciate this endorsement from Ayeka community.”
Regarding the installation of a new monarch, Governor Aiyedatiwa clarified that the community will choose their king, while the state government will oversee the process and ensure its swift completion.
He urged the community leaders to write to the Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs to expedite the process.
The visit was attended by Deputy Governor Dr. Olayide Adelami, Chief of Staff Prince Segun Omojuwa, and other community leaders, including the Regent of Ayeka kingdom, Princess Oluyemi Bajowa, and others.
