The Ondo State Government has donated relief materials to over 300 residents of Ita-Ogbolu in Akure North council area, who were affected by a rainstorm that ravaged houses and displaced hundreds of residents earlier this year.
The donation was made by the Deputy Governor, Olayide Adelami, who represented Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa.
Adelami reiterated the administration’s commitment to prioritizing the welfare of the people, especially in times of disaster.
The relief materials, which include bags of cement, mattresses, iron sheets, and nails, were distributed to 340 households affected by the rainstorm.
The Deputy Governor emphasized that the materials were provided regardless of political affiliations, as directed by the Governor.
The Ogbolu of Ita-Ogbolu, Oba Idowu Faborede, and the Chairman of Ita-Ogbolu Development Council, Steve Ojo, expressed gratitude to the Governor for his swift response and kindness.
They promised that the people of Ita-Ogbolu will reciprocate the gesture at the appropriate time.
The donation is a fulfillment of the Governor’s promise to the people of Ita-Ogbolu during his visit to the affected area a few months ago.
The Governor’s administration has once again demonstrated its commitment to the welfare and well-being of the people of Ondo State.
