Olojoda passes on months after ascending throne

The traditional ruler of Oda Town in Akure South Local Government Area of Ondo State, Oba Julius Ajayi Adewumi Omomo, Okunbadejo II, has joined his ancestors. He was aged 83.

The monarch, who ascended the throne as the Olojoda of Oda on May 30, 2023, passed on during a brief illness.

Oba Omomo’s eventful reigh was said to have been cut short by ill health during the weekend.

A Chief in the town and member of the deceased monarch’s family, Prince Ade Adelakun, confirmed the news of his demise to The Nigerian Monitor.

Adelakun, who described the departed traditional ruler as a gentle, caring and progressive minded individual, said his sudden exit came as a shock to the entire community.
