Sallah: FUOYE VC, Fasina congratulates Muslim staff, urges virtues of Prophet Ibrahim

The Vice-Chancellor, Federal University Oye Ekiti, Ekiti State, Nigeria, Prof. Abayomi Sunday Fasina has rejoiced with the university community, especially the Muslim members of staff for witnessing another Eid-festival, urging them to imbibe virtues as exemplified by Prophet Ibrahim, who demonstrated his willingness to sacrifice his only son in deference to the Will of Allah to commemorate the festival of Eid-el-kabir.

 

Besides, the Vice-Chancellor tasked the Muslim members of staff on self- restraint with a view to rededicating themselves to the service of Allah and promoting good neighbourliness, love and unity.

 

The Vice-Chancellor, in a statement by the university’s Public Relations Officer, Mr. Foluso Ogunmodede said “on behalf of myself and my family, I rejoice with our Muslim brothers and sisters in the university on the occasion of this year’s Eid-el-kabir.

 

“It’s a season of charity, peace-making and forgiveness.

 

“We must use this season to remember to fend for the poor and the needy in accordance with Allah’s injunction to be our brothers’ keeper.

 

“As we all know the acts behind this festival which includes piety, obedience, faithfulness, sacrifice and total submission to the will of Allah, make it incumbent on us to imbibe the spirit of love, unity, mutual respect and peaceful cohabitation as these among other virtues remain the path to greatness and prosperity for us here on earth and hereafter.

 

“I also want to implore us to use the occasion of this festive period to continually offer prayers for peace, growth and development of our university. Happy celebration.”
