The Minister of State for Transportation, Prince Ademola Adegoroye, on Sunday hosted a team of former and current members of the Ondo State House of Assembly since 1999.
The meeting, which held at the Minister’s residence in Akure, was attended by about 50 former and current state lawmakers.
Adegoroye represented Akure South Constituency One in the Ondo State House of Assembly between 1999 and 2003.
Prince Adegoroye, who said no political meaning should be ready into the gathering, said there was the need for those who have served the State in legislative capacity to remain in contact.
According to him, the meeting was a response to the request for such made by a few of his colleagues who had yearned for it and encouraged him to host the meeting.
The Minister said the meeting will be a regular one to foster unity of purpose among former and current lawmakers in the State for the development of the State and the country.
Prince Adegoroye acknowledged the leadership of Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu and his giant strides in the State, stressing that the meeting being hosted had the blessings of the governor.
Those present at the meeting commended Prince Adegoroye for the impressive achievements he has managed to record within a short period in office as a Minister.
The former and current lawmakers, who commended the Minister for the initiative, promised to encourage others to join the team.
