The immediate past Ekiti Deputy Governor, Bisi Egbeyemi, is dead.

He died at the age of 78.

Egbeyemi was deputy governor to Governor Kayode Fayemi. He served between 2018 and 2022.

The former deputy governor died around 8pm on Friday after a brief illness.

He was said to have died at a private hospital in Ado-Ekiti, the state capital.

In a message posted on his Facebook page on Saturday, a son to the deceased, Tolu Egbeyemi confirmed the death of his father, noting that he died after a brief illness.

In the short message signed by the family, Tolu said: “We are grateful for the outpouring of love, support, and condolences from family and friends. We kindly ask that you respect the family to grieve privately during this difficult period.”
