Osun Amotekun nab two suspected criminals with dane gun, charm

Operatives of Osun state Amotekun Corps have arrested two suspected criminals alleged to have been terrorising residents of Modakeke and its environ.

The suspects were nabbed with a dane double barrel gun in Modakeke, Osun State.

The suspects, whose names were given as Segun Ajayi (27), and Sunday Adedoja (37) were arrested after a complaint was lodged at the Modakeke office of Amotekun Corps.

The Nigerian Monitor gathered that the suspects were armed with dane guns at the time of their arrest.

Confirming the arrest to newsmen in Osogbo, the Amotekun Field Commander, Capt. B.O. Akanni (Rtd), said the arrested culprits have been terrorising the residents of Modakeke before nemesis caught up with them.

He said: “Our men received an information from some concerned residents of Modakeke, over the criminal activities of some individuals, and our men swung into action, leading to the arrest of the duo while armed with a dane gun and charms.

“The arrest was made possible by our operatives in Modakeke command who swung into action immediately after a complaint was lodged on the activities of the culprits.

“Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspects are ex -convict.”

Akanni also urged residents of the state to be security conscious at all times and expose any criminal hideouts in their domains to the security agencies.

He disclosed that the culprits have been transferred to the police for subsequent investigation and interrogation.
