Campaign fund mismanagement allegation against Omisore baseless – APC chieftain

From John Dike, Osogbo

A Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ipetumodu, Ife North Local Government area of Osun State, Mr Kazeem Afolabi, has described the allegation of fund mismanagement against Senator Iyiola Omisore, as baseless and unfounded.

Afolabi said no right thinking person should believe the allegation, saying Omisore is a man of proven integrity and a respected party man.

He posited that the allegation by North-West National Vice-Chairman of the APC, Dr. Salihu Lukman, accusing the National Secretary of the party, Senator Iyiola Omisore, of mismanaging the campaign funds allegedly given to him by the party for Osun state governorship election is baseless.

in a press statement issued and made available to newsmen in Osogbo, the Osun state capital on Wednesday, Afolabi enjoined members of the public to ignore the baseless allegation.

Afolabi who described the statement as uncharitable and unwarranted, said the allegation has caused serious damage to the sterling personality and integrity of the APC National Secretary.

The Ipetumodu born politician who demanded a retraction and a public apology as a matter of urgency from Mr Lukman, to Senator Iyiola Omisore, described his principal as a man of honour and God-fearing, who loves accountability in anything and anywhere he found himself.

According to Afolabi, “I am surprised to read in the news about the damaging letter written by one Salihu Lukman alleging Senator Omisore of mismanaging fund meant for governorship election in Osun state, I want to state here that there was nothing of such, while such an allegation was a slap on the face.

“The National APC Secretary is a man of honour, due diligence and a political giant loved by his people.”
