… It’s a miscarriage of justice
From John Dike, Osogbo
Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke, on Friday rejected the judgement of the Governorship Election Petitions Tribunal which nullified his victory at the poll, describing it as “a miscarriage of justice.”
Governor Adeleke vowed to challenge the ruling at the Court of Appeal.
In his immediate reaction from his country home, Ede, after the tribunal verdict, Adeleke faulted the resolution of the over-voting decided in favour of former Governor Gboyega Oyetola, candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), calling it “an unfair interpretation against the will of majority of voters”
He, however, urged his supporters across the state and beyond to remain calm, just as he vowed to approach the Court of Appeal on the matter, insisting he remains the rightful winner of the July 16, 2022 gubernatorial election.
He said: “I call on our people to remain calm. We will appeal the judgement and we are sure justice will be done. Let our people be reassured that we will do everything possible to retain this widely acclaimed mandate.”
