Embattled speaker of the ekiti state house of assembly, Olugboyega Aribisogan on Tuesday accused for governor of the state, Kayode Fayemi of causing disaffection among lawmakers in the state house of assembly.
Aribisogan made the allegation in an interview on channels television as monitored by Roving Reporters Online.
The former leader of Government Business, who emerged as speaker having polled 15 votes to defeat his rival, Bunmi Adelugba, said happenings in the Assembly since his emergence were plotting to remove him from office and impose Adelugba.
The Ekiti House of Assembly complex was sealed off last Wednesday after the police claimed to be acting on information that some hoodlums planned to attack the complex.
This happened just a day after Aribisogan was elected the new speaker after the demise of the former speaker, Funminiyi Afuye.
Aribisogan said, “Fayemi is the one causing crisis in the Ekiti state house of assembly. I stand to say that he is the one and I am going to tell him to his face that what he is doing in Ekiti will not be acceptable to Ekiti people.
“He can not put a governor and at the same time don’t allow the same governor to work.
“We are all witnesses to how he has been manipulating the current governor and how he has been sandwiching him, not allowing him to speak and do anything.
“Fayemi has been threatening me that he will make sure he eliminate me. I am still the speaker of Ekiti state and we shall meet at the court to challenge this.
“Leaders of our party have spoken with Fayemi to allow emergence to stand but he insisted that he has to truncate it.”
